Wonder-filled Outdoor Learning for Curious Kids

Hands-on learning through science, exploration, and real-world experiences.

Our Philosophy

We believe childhood should look like this...

Muddy hands, curious minds, and learning that happens through real experiences—not just worksheets.

Less sitting still. More exploring, building, and discovering.

Full of wonder, freedom to explore, and moments that turn into lifelong memories.

Hi I'm Jennifer!

🌿 Meet Your Nature School Guide

Hi, I’m Jennifer—a homeschool mom, former chemist, and the founder of Wonder Wilds Nature School.
This is my 6th year running Nature School, where I combine my background in biology, toxicology, and chemistry with hands-on, nature-based learning.

Before homeschooling, I worked as an environmental and bioanalytical chemist. Now, we spend our days on our small homestead raising goats and chickens, and working alongside our family farm with cattle, bees, and maple syrup.
Nature School was created to give kids a place to explore, move, and experience real learning in a meaningful way.

What you can expect from me:

Over the past 6 years I’ve worked with dozens of families to create meaningful outdoor learning experiences.

Choose the right fit for your child.

Why families love Wonder Wilds...

Fall 2024

The instructor did a great job of keeping the kids engaged. The lessons were just right for the age group.

Spring 2024

You should do nature school for adults because I learn as much if not more than my kids. We love it!

Fall 2025

We love your knowledge, the activities, and getting out with friends.  My kids are always excited for nature school days.

Fall 2025

You have so much knowledge I am so glad that my kids can learn from you!

Still have questions? Here is what you need to know!

Which program is right for my child?

If you have kids under 10 that enjoy exploring with friends and simple STEM activities then my Nature School is for you.

If you have older children or children who love art and can sit long enough to draw, label, and analyze then my Advanced Nature Journaling class is for you.

I host my nature school at Flemming Falls Nature Preserve in Richland County, OH. I AM NOT associated with the Richland County Parks District!

Nature school will run in all weather with the exception of unsafe storms, wind, or extreme temperatures. Please be prepared for rain and mud at all times.

No, this is not a drop of program. It is a family learning experience and at least one parent must stay.

Absolutely siblings of all ages are welcome. I typically have something extra for younger kids to do as well.

While you do not NEED anything I highly recommend that you bring a collection bag. The beach bags work great for this. A water bottle and snack. You will also probably want an extra change of clothes and a towel.

At this moment there is not a safe accessible route at Flemming Falls. I am hopeful that as they continue to update the facility that will be one of their top priorities.
